The EcoBarrel

Is a repurposed food grade transport barrel that is given a second chance to do more than it was originally intended for. Food companies no longer need these barrels and many if not all end up in landfills.
GreenMojoEco keeps these barrels out of landfills and gives them a 2nd chance to benefit the world.

The EcoBarrel is available in two ways, as a Rain Barrel and a Tumbling Composter, both compliment each other. Make your own compost for your garden and water your garden with rain water.

The "EcoBarrel" benefits your home, garden and community. It saves you money, use healthier rain water for lawns & gardens, and help reduce stormwater runoff & local flooding.

The "EcoTumbler" is the easiest and best way to compost at home. The enclosed design keeps critters out, and sturdy base keeps it off the ground. See composting info below.
These barrels have traveled thousands of miles around the world, and even though we have thoroughly cleaned them inside and out, they may still have scratches and scrapes. These scratches and scrapes do not effect the water tight integrity of the barrel. This should be considered as part of the "character" of the repurposed EcoBarrel.

Rain Barrel Accessories

The flexible elbow connects to your downspout and directs the rain water into the rain barrel. Self tapping screws are included. Available in White or Brown (specify at check out).

The mosquito dunk (donuts) floats on top of the water, slowly dissolving, releasing a natural bacteria that mosquitoes and mosquito larvae will eat. Preventing mosquitoes from multiplying. We recommend breaking the dunk into smaller pieces, dropping a piece every 30 days. The dunk should last you an entire season.

The spade bit completes the Rain Barrel Kit. Use the spade bit to make the holes for the hose bibb/spigot.

How to install a rain barrel

Installing a rain barrel is very simple and can be done in less than 1 hour. Planning ahead is key!
First, decide where to install the rain barrel? It must be installed near a (roof gutter) downspout to be able to collect water efficiently.
Second, you will need the following: shovel, small bag of gravel, level, 2 to 4 cinder blocks, hacksaw, flexible spout, 1/2" self-tapping screws, and hose.

Mosquito Control

Make sure to maintain the top screen, keep it clean and check it often for openings that may allow mosquitos in. Make sure you have a hose securely attached to the overflow valve, to keep mosquitos from entering the barrel.

We highly reccomend using mosquito dunks just in case mosquitos do enter. Dunks will kill the eggs and prevent the mosquito from landing on the water. You may also try a cap full of vegetable oil, to break up the water surface tension. This too will not let the mosquitos land on the water. Neither of these options will harm your lawn or garden.

Composting Is Natures Way Of Recycling

Picture
*20 Day time composting period is not garanteed, results will vary. Time will be affected by weather, region, and how often you add materials and tumble your bin. Not everyone will compost the same way or use the same materials.
The Four Essential Ingredients for Composting:
1) Nitrogen (kitchen scraps & cut grass)
2) Carbon (fallen leaves)

3) Water (moist like a wrung out sponge)
4) Oxygen (tumble the pile to aerate it)
